Job Summary We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Online Teaching Assistant CPB to support our Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) programs for Certified Professional Biller (CPB) courses. As a remote Online Teaching Assistant CPB, you will provide one-on-one mentoring to assigned students, guide them through the course material, and evaluate their performance in meeting course objectives and learning outcomes. Key Responsibilities Provide one-on-one mentoring to assigned students in CPB courses, guiding them through the course material and supporting their learning journey. Observe and evaluate individual student performance in meeting course objectives and learning outcomes through assignments, practical assignments, quizzes, or examinations. Provide timely and constructive feedback on student progress, using AAPC's learning management system to communicate with students and access course materials. Participate in live virtual classroom sessions, assisting faculty and providing support to students as needed. Mentor students using a variety of teaching styles, creating engaging and relevant assignments that demonstrate real-world applications of concepts covered. Be available for student consultation through office hours or scheduled appointments, using AAPC's virtual platform, phone, or email. Attend one or more orientation sessions to become familiar with AAPC's policies, procedures, and learning management system. Respond to student coaching questions within 48 hours of receiving inquiries. Essential Qualifications Current and valid certification in Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and Certified Professional Biller (CPB). Prior teaching experience in corporate training, particularly with adult students, is highly desirable. Prior experience teaching online is desirable. 2-3 years of production coding or auditing experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience with teaching fully online or in hybrid formats. Strong knowledge of medical billing and coding principles, practices, and guidelines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students and colleagues. Proficient in using technology effectively in teaching, including learning management systems and virtual classroom platforms. Skills and Competencies Required Current knowledge of the relevant discipline, with a strong understanding of medical billing and coding principles. Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching adult learners, with a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring. Ability to use technology effectively in teaching, including learning management systems and virtual classroom platforms. Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, with the ability to provide constructive feedback and guidance. Good organizational skills and timeliness in responding to student inquiries. Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with students and colleagues.
