Hi, Job Title: Open Metadata Expert Location: (3 days onsite per week)(Rutherford, NYC, Tampa, Jacksonville, Irving – preferred, 3 days onsite/week) Duration: 12 Months Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Open Metadata Expert to join our team. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing metadata strategies to support effective data discovery, lineage, quality, and governance. The ideal candidate will serve as a bridge between business and technical teams, ensuring metadata is accurate, comprehensive, and leveraged effectively to drive data-driven decision-making across the organization. Key Responsibilities • Metadata Strategy & Standards: Develop and implement metadata management strategies, standards, policies, and naming conventions. • Metadata Management: Create, maintain, and enrich metadata repositories across multiple platforms and systems to ensure accuracy and completeness. • Data Discovery & Governance: Support data governance and facilitate data discovery by improving metadata quality and consistency. • Data Lineage & Impact Analysis: Define and manage data lineage, establish relationships between data elements, and support impact assessments. • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with data owners, stewards, architects, and technology teams to ensure alignment on metadata practices. • Training & Support: Provide guidance and training to teams on metadata tools, processes, and best practices. • Quality & Compliance: Ensure metadata integrity through validation, consistency checks, and participation in data quality initiatives. • Documentation: Develop and maintain documentation for metadata standards, policies, and governance procedures. • Reporting: Create dashboards and reports to monitor data governance and metadata quality. Required Skills & Tools • Strong experience with Open Metadata or Collate AI platform. • Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data observability best practices. • Experience with integrating metadata management tools with platforms like Airflow, Snowflake, and related technologies. • Hands-on experience managing metadata repositories, data models, and governance workflows. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with both technical and business stakeholders.
