Employer Industry: Healthcare Why consider this job opportunity: - Opportunity for career advancement and growth within the organization - Work remotely when necessary, offering flexibility - Comprehensive benefits package, including dental and vision insurance - 403(b) matching for retirement savings - Employee wellness and assistance programs to support your health and well-being - Employer-paid life and disability insurance for added security What to Expect (Job Responsibilities): - Code, analyze, and abstract emergency room, outpatient surgery, and observation electronic medical records - Ensure accurate indexing of documents to the correct patient or encounter - Identify and refer poor-quality documents to the appropriate staff for correction - Review assigned work queues daily to ensure timely processing of assignments - Serve as a resource for team members regarding code assignment issues and related documentation policies What is Required (Qualifications): - Graduate of an AHIMA accredited HIA or HIT program with completion of basic coding courses - AHIMA or AAPC approved credential(s) such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CCA, or equivalent - Minimum of one year experience coding ICD-10-CM & CPT-4 in an acute care hospital - Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, and relevant coding systems - Good organizational skills with attention to detail and quality How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications): - Experience with emergency room and outpatient surgery medical record content - Strong decision-making skills and ability to prioritize workload effectively - Proficiency in performing computer functions in Microsoft Windows - Excellent verbal and written communication skills #Healthcare #MedicalCoding #CareerGrowth #RemoteWork #EmployeeBenefits We prioritize candidate privacy and champion equal-opportunity employment.
