About the Position We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Part-Time Math Support/Paraprofessional to join our team at Archbishop Murphy High School. This temporary position is designed to support students in need of additional math support within our Academic Resource Center learning support program. The successful candidate will work closely with the classroom teacher to assist students in a Modified Math/Pre-Algebra classroom setting, providing individual and group support to ensure students achieve their academic goals. Key Responsibilities Provide assistance in a Modified Math/Pre-Algebra classroom 2-3 times a week, following a rotating schedule, with hours generally from 9:30-11:00 a.m. every other day. Adapt to the classroom setting, taking the lead from the teacher, and offer general support to students and teachers, as well as individual support to students with special needs. Help students with general studying/review, beginning assignments, reviewing key concepts, and accessing classroom resources. Enjoy working with high school students and be committed to helping them develop mathematic skills. Qualifications and Preferences To be considered for this role, you should have: A strong background in mathematics, with a preference for a B.A. (or higher) in a related field. Successful tutoring or teaching experience working with high school students, with a preference given to candidates with experience in mathematics and/or working with diverse learners. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other staff members. Essential Skills and Competencies Strong math skills, with the ability to assist students in a Modified Math/Pre-Algebra classroom setting. Compensation, Perks, and Benefits The compensation for this role is competitive, with a rate of $50 per class period. While this is a part-time position and not eligible for benefits, qualified substitute teachers may also have the opportunity to substitute teach during other class periods at Archbishop Murphy High School, if interested.
