Patient Accounting Intern
219 Health Network is seeking a Patient Accounting Intern to support and assist the Patient Accounting staff in resolving patient accounts. The role involves working with insurance companies, government, or patients to follow up on collections of accounts in a part-time, temporary capacity. Responsibilities Supporting and assisting Patient Accounting staff in the resolution of patient accounts Working with insurance companies, government or patients to follow-up on collections of accounts Skills Actively working towards college degree in the area of Business Management, Healthcare or related field required Current college student will only be considered Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information Must have above average proficiency with Windows style applications and keyboard Must be proficient with Excel Must have excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent analytical problem-solving skills required Basic mathematical knowledge including understanding of debits and credits for correct account transactions Requires the use of office equipment such as computer terminals, telephones, copiers, fax machine, 10 key adding machine Good previous work history required Some knowledge of insurance preferred, but not required Benefits Competitive wage and benefits package Necessary tools, resources, and mentoring opportunities to support your career advancement goals Company Overview 219 Health Network offers affordable healthcare services, including OB-GYN and general medical care, to Northwest Indiana communities.
