Job Summary As a Patient Registrar, you will play a critical role in ensuring a positive patient experience. You will be responsible for greeting and checking in patients, gathering and entering patient demographics, obtaining insurance information, collecting co-pays, and scheduling appointments. If you have a high school diploma, a minimum of two years' experience in a medical office with a background in patient registration, and excellent customer service skills, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity. Key Responsibilities Register patients, including gathering and entering/updating demographic and insurance information Schedule appointments and ensure accurate and efficient patient flow Collect co-pays and process payments Assist patients with health histories and ensure accurate documentation Room patients and prepare exam rooms for patient care Provide exceptional customer service and respond to patient inquiries Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A high school diploma or equivalent A minimum of two years' experience in a medical office with a background in patient registration Knowledge of medical insurance plans and carriers Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Strong customer service skills and a patient-centered approach Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel Experience with GE Centricity and Allscripts is desired Reliable transportation to and from work Preferred Skills and Competencies In addition to the requirements listed above, we are looking for a candidate who possesses: Energetic, enthusiastic, compassionate, and patient demeanor Detail-oriented and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Dependable and able to work independently with minimal supervision Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines What We Offer As a valued member of our team, you can expect: A competitive salary and benefits package Opportunities for professional growth and development A dynamic and supportive work environment Flexible scheduling and part-time hours (4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday) Additional hours may be available Work Environment and Culture At Orthopedic Associates of Hartford, we are committed to fostering a culture of excellence, compassion, and respect.
