Percona Database Administrator - Kforce Technology Staffing

RESPONSIBILITIES: Kforce has a client that is seeking a Percona Database Administrator in Salt Lake City, UT. Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Percona Database Administrator to manage and optimize our database infrastructure across Kubernetes environments. This role will focus on deploying and supporting Percona Operators, ensuring high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery readiness. The ideal candidate will be passionate about automation, observability, and process excellence. Key Responsibilities: Database Operations & Support: * Performance tuning, backup/restore and replication in a Kubernetes environment * Implement monitor of database health using tools and native Kubernetes observability stacks Kubernetes & Operator Management: * Automate database lifecycle operations using Percona Operators * Integrate with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, GitLab CI/CD) * Manage Helm charts, StatefulSets, and persistent volumes for database workloads Disaster Recovery Planning: * Design and implement DR strategies including failover clusters, and backup validation * Conduct DR drills and document recovery procedures Process Documentation & Testing: * Create and maintain detailed runbooks, SOPs, and architecture diagrams * Develop and execute test plans for failovers and performance benchmarks * Collaborate with QA and REQUIREMENTS: * 5+ years of experience in database administration (Percona) * 2+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Percona Operators * Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps) * Proven track record in designing and testing DR plans * Strong scripting skills (TypeScript, Python) for automation and security provisioning * Excellent documentation and communication skills The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
