They are seeking a Photojournalist/Editor for KREM 2 in Spokane, Washington, who will be responsible for shooting and editing quality stories for multiple newscasts and online platforms while working closely with the news team. Responsibilities Use the latest photography and editing tools to tell great stories on deadline Produce original content for on-air and digital platforms that evoke emotion and tell compelling stories Use creative production techniques such as graphics and other forms of media (viewer pictures and videos, etc.) to enhance stories Cover breaking news, general assignment news, weather, feature stories and sports Attend editorial meetings, participate in discussions and suggest story ideas Work closely with producers, MSJs and fellow photojournalists/editors daily Operate live equipment (i.e. live trucks and Dejeros) Perform other tasks as required by Chief Journalist or other members of the news leadership team Skills Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events Ability to create/edit material for on-air and web, while meeting deadlines Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, nightside, holidays and overtime as needed Ability to be in on-call rotation We put a premium on personal integrity, teamwork, accountability, problem solving and a strong work ethic Ability to be open to feedback and coaching 1-3 years of experience as a news photojournalist/editor Knowledge of Sony cameras, along with wireless microphones, TVU or Dejero live units Experience with video editing software; knowledge of video editing using proper sequencing and audio levels Working knowledge or operation of a live truck Benefits TEGNA offers comprehensive benefits designed to safeguard the physical, mental and financial health of our employees and their families.
