Rogers Capital Technology Services is looking for a talented and enthusiastic PHP Developer to join our growing team. This role offers a unique 'Remote Option', allowing you the flexibility to work from your preferred location within Mauritius, while still being an integral part of our innovative projects. You will be instrumental in the design, development, and maintenance of high-performance web-based systems, working on exciting client projects that span various industries. We are seeking an individual with a strong foundation in PHP development, eager to contribute to a collaborative environment where continuous learning and best practices are championed. Your primary focus will be on developing server-side logic, defining and maintaining databases, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You will work closely with our product managers, UI/UX designers, and other developers to deliver seamless and efficient user experiences. Key Responsibilities • Develop, test, and deploy robust, scalable, and secure PHP-based web applications. • Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code adhering to best practices and coding standards. • Design and maintain databases, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity. • Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and UI/UX designers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic. • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software systems. • Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge within the team. • Implement and maintain APIs for various third-party integrations. • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve our development processes. • Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, from conception to deployment and maintenance. • Ensure technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability. Required Skills • Proficiency in PHP, preferably with experience in modern PHP frameworks (e.g., Laravel, Symfony). • Solid understanding of relational databases, particularly MySQL, including database design, querying, and optimization. • Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and AJAX. • Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and Agile development methodologies. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. • Ability to write clean, well-structured, and maintainable code. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting. Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). • Knowledge of other programming languages or frameworks is a plus. • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing. • Understanding of testing frameworks (e.g., PHPUnit). • Previous experience working effectively in a remote or hybrid team environment.
