The Role We partner with the Chemical industry across the value chain to transform legacy businesses and pivot to new models by delivering Sustainable and Resilient operations. As a Principal on our Chemical industry team, you will define our regional industry growth strategy and market positioning, grow our business, build critical capabilities, and enhance our brand. We are not looking for a generalist consultant for this role but someone that has an encyclopedic knowledge of the chemicals industry specifically and the major market trends and developments impacting our clients. You will be accountable for: • Collaborating with the Global Chemical Industry team to define the regional industry growth strategy, positioning in the market, and detail the plan and investments/resources required to sustain differential growth. • Driving a proactive business development process to target the right clients and grow/nurture the portfolio of accounts (drive key account management, penetrate existing ones and target new ones). • Identify potential key accounts and install / oversee key account management practices • Defining the critical capabilities required to grow the industry, attract/develop the necessary talent and empower/grow new leaders. • Developing industry-specific insights/thought leadership to support market positioning and inform customization/innovation of service offerings. • Acting as a trusted advisor with senior client executives and maintain and expand relationships. • Guiding your team in developing client centric solutions that are transformational and leverage dss+ array of capabilities. • Leading a team of dss+ Senior Managers, Managers, and Consultants with a strong focus on client delivery within a high-performance work culture. Who are you today? You are most likely a Senior Manager, Principal, or Director in a management consulting firm, or an Industry Executive with previous consulting experience. You will have broad experience across the Chemical Industry value stream and have an in-depth understanding of current industry challenges. You are excited by driving collaboration across teams, developing customized solutions to client challenges and partnering with them to deliver sustainable results. You are comfortable in the C-suite, engaging as a peer with executives, board members, and senior operational leaders. Qualifications / Expertise • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or business, MBA, MS preferred. • 15+ years of professional experience in management consulting / industry executive roles with advanced capabilities to engage in sales calls, scope client needs and write compelling consulting proposals. • Extensive executive network within the industry, including clients, their partners and relevant industry associations. • Strong growth and entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to respectfully challenge current norms, improve and deliver results. • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a fast-paced, multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary consulting team and develop the team's capabilties. • Fluency in both written and spoken English. Other languages will be a plus. • Willingness to travel.
