Principal Specialist, Non-Product Procurement (Remote)
About the position The Principal Specialist, Non-Product Procurement, will join our Non-Product Procurement team that buys products for our facilities in North America. In this role, you will support the Supply Chain team in managing supplier relationships, communicating the multiple programs' needs to the assigned suppliers, and ensuring that materials and other deliverables are available on time and at the required quality level. Responsibilities • Work in a remote capacity. • Source, negotiate and manage Non-Product Procurement activity aligned to commodity strategies and program objectives. • Place purchase orders and manage multiple suppliers/components and ensure on time deliveries meet quality standards. • Lead the relationship with suppliers to meet key program goals. • Monitor key metrics and track supplier milestones significant to meeting deliverables. • Understand and review performance to cost targets, communicating any impacts. • Develop and implement corrective action plans to address supplier risks and concerns. • Engage with Program, Engineering, Quality and Operations teams to eliminate roadblocks to achieve business goals. • Actively take part in special projects to develop and refine processes, ensuring effective and exact metrics. • Support counterparts within Supply Chain Management in defining and identifying areas of opportunity for the team to improve performance and increase efficiency. • Explain policies, practices, and procedures and influence others in their development. • Create spreadsheets, pivot tables and v-lookups in Microsoft Excel. • Support programs by addressing and predicting needs. • Participate in continuous improvement events and activities such as Value Stream Mapping or Kaizen events. Requirements • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum of 5 years of prior relevant Supply Chain experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 3 years of prior relevant Supply Chain experience. • Experience in Aerospace Supply Chain Procurement. Nice-to-haves • SAP knowledge. • Familiarity with CORE - Continuous Improvement / Lean manufacturing efforts.
