Product Manager

What is the Role? As part of Loggerhead’s Product and Risk team, the Product Manager is responsible for insurance products in the state of Florida and will be assigned product responsibility and development of strategic and tactical planning. Reporting to the Chief Underwriting Officer, this role will lead and manage the product portfolio which includes oversight of all rates, rules, and forms. We’re looking for an individual that is self-driven to grow professionally and take personal responsibility for shaping Loggerhead’s current and future success in the Florida insurance marketplace. The selected candidate will be empowered with insight into all areas of the organization to both learn how to build an insurance company from the ground up and leave his or her imprint on the company’s products. Responsibilities include: Full ownership of insurance products’ profitability and competitiveness in the Florida market. Researching competitive landscape to identify industry developments and opportunities to evolve product offerings to maintain competitiveness and price adequacy. Management of rate review and filing process for insurance products to ensure timely implementation of rates, forms, and rules changes to support profitability and growth objective . Responsibility for entire process from data analysis to filing submission, including presenting to and obtaining approval from executive leadership tea m. Preparation of communication with agencies and internal staff regarding product changes. Monitoring performance of assigned products including loss ratios, demographics, market and industry trends, legislative and regulatory activities, etc. to anticipate problems and proactively design corrective actions Refinement of product strategy through the timely creation of new and improved coverage offerings, underwriting guidelines, and pricing that ensure Company insurance products remain competitive in marketplace and in compliance with laws and regulations Managing relationships with external parties, including vendors, insurance organizations, and regulators. Being a driving force to implement new products and product enhancements, including developing systems requirements and performing detailed testing Works on ad-hoc requests for analysis, research, reports, and presentations dealing with business needs. Build strong relationships with other business units and lead strategic directions for the long-term success of assigned areas. What You'll Need to be a Top Candidate: Skill s Ability to take complex analytical results and present them in easy-to-follow presentations. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization. Strong skills in data analysis, modeling, and problem solving . Familiarity with tools like Python, R, SQL, or similar . Comfortable working independently—this role comes with room to explore, model, and recommend. Internally driven and motivated—you’ll be expected to take initiative, dig into problems, and bring forward smart solutions. Knowledge & Experience Minimum 3 years of experience managing Florida homeowner's insurance products Expert knowledge of statutes and regulations governing personal lines insurance operations in Florida. Experience/interest in business analysis, insurance product management, and general management. Strong knowledge of standard Personal Property contract language and regulatory environments required. Possession of or progress toward actuarial credentials will provide further opportunity for advancement and additional responsibilities Education & Certifications · Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience managing Florida property insurance products *This job is remote, with occasional travel to Tampa, FL headquarters* Working Conditions: Normal business office environment.
