Description US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Remote Programmer to join our team in Franklin TN. Summary: We are seeking an experienced Tableau Developer / Tableau Cloud Administrator to design, develop, test, optimize, and support enterprise-level analytics solutions. This role requires strong Tableau development expertise and hands-on experience administering Tableau Cloud, managing permissions, optimizing performance, and supporting scalable, governed content. Premium communication skills are mandatory since this role interacts with analysts and managers outside of IT. Tableau Development: • Design, develop, test, and optimize interactive dashboards using Tableau Desktop and Tableau Cloud. • Build and maintain published data sources, extracts, virtual connections, and reusable datasets. • Develop LOD expressions, advanced calculations, parameters, and dynamic filters. • Apply best practices for consistent UX/UI and dashboard performance. • Collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements and deliver insights. Tableau Cloud Administration: • Administer Tableau Cloud including user provisioning, groups, and site roles. • Manage project permissions, certified data sources, and governance standards. • Configure and monitor extract refreshes, schedules, and OAuth connections. • Use Tableau Cloud Admin Insights for monitoring performance and content usage. • Support development lifecycle of dashboards within a single environment (Dev, Test, Prod). Data Integration & Engineering Support: • Integrate Tableau with Snowflake, SQL Server, cloud databases, and APIs. • Write optimized SQL queries, views, and procedures for reporting. • Troubleshoot data refresh issues and performance bottlenecks. • Generate data profiles of data pipeline output including outliers • Collaborate with on-prem and external Data Engineering teams for semantic layers and models. Governance, Security & Best Practices: • Maintain data governance including row-level security and access control to comply with HIPAA and PHI regulations. • Develop documentation, standards, and best practices. • Train end users and analysts on Tableau functionality and governance standards. Support & Maintenance: • Provide level-2/3 support for Tableau dashboards and Tableau Cloud issues. • Analyze and resolve extract failures, OAuth issues, and performance problems. • Manage content promotion and versioning across environments. Requirements: • Five (5) years Tableau development experience. • Two (2) years Tableau Cloud administration experience. • Strong SQL skills (Snowflake preferred). • Expertise with LOD expressions, calculations, and dashboard optimization. • Strong understanding of BI, data modeling, and relational databases. • Excellent communication and problem solving skills. • Initiative within a collaborative environment. • Tableau certification preferred but not required. • Experience with Snowflake, dbt, FiveTran, or cloud data tools preferred but not required. • Healthcare analytics experience is a plus preferred but not required. • Experience with OAuth, RLS, and SCIM provisioning preferred but not required. • Python or scripting experience preferred but not required.
