React Native / Expo Developer Needed to Take Over and Upgrade Mobile App - Contract to Hire
Hi there, I’m looking for an experienced mobile developer to take over the Meet Your Engineer application. The app is currently built in pure React Native, but I need it to be migrated to Expo so we can streamline builds, deployments, and future feature development. Your main responsibilities: Review the existing codebase and understand the current architecture. Migrate the entire project from React Native to Expo while keeping all existing features functional. Set up a clean build & deployment workflow for both iOS and Android. Work directly with our Product Owner to implement new features over time. Provide guidance on best practices, performance, and code structure. What I’m looking for: Strong experience with React Native and Expo. Prior experience migrating RN apps to Expo (real-world projects, not just tests). Clear communication, autonomy, and the ability to move fast. Immediate or near-immediate availability. About the project: Meet Your Engineer is a platform connecting artists, sound engineers, beatmakers, and studios. The app already exists, but we need a more stable and scalable foundation to keep improving the product. Collaboration details: Initial short mission: migration + Expo setup.
