About the position The Registered Nurse (RN) position within the Central Staffing Resource Department at Michigan Medicine focuses on providing nursing care to pediatric patients across various medical and surgical specialties. This role is integral to the Pediatric Acute Care Cluster, which includes specialized units such as Pediatric Cancer, Congenital Heart, and Medical/Surgical units. Responsibilities • Provide nursing care to pediatric patients across a range of medical and surgical specialties. • Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver family-centered care. • Participate in continuous quality improvement processes with documented results. • Demonstrate accountability and dependability in completing mandatory training and competencies. • Utilize effective communication and problem-solving skills within the healthcare team. Requirements • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan. • Minimum of one (1) year recent RN experience in pediatric acute care. Nice-to-haves • BSN • Broad range of Pediatric experience • Experience as a float RN • Knowledge of the University of Michigan Hospital nursing policies and practice. • Experience with family-centered care philosophy • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Groupwise • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work effectively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team. • Positive verbal and written communication skills.
