Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company has an immediate full-time opening for a Sr. Financial Analyst in our Reinsurance department. We are seeking a motivated individual to join our initiative-taking Reinsurance team to support our continued growth and success. This position will play a crucial role in analyzing, monitoring, and reporting the financial performance of our reinsurance agreements. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively and independently. Exceptional candidates with extensive experience and leadership capabilities will be considered for the Sr. Financial Analyst role, which carries additional responsibilities. WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU: • Estimated Salary (Levels have variable responsibilities and qualifications) • Finance Analyst: $60,000-$76,000, plus annual bonus opportunity. • Senior Finance Analyst:$76,000-$97,000, plus annual bonus opportunity. • 401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match. • Work-life balance with vacation, personal time and paid holidays. WHAT YOU'LL DO: • Monitor and analyze financial data related to reinsurance, including premiums, claims and reserves. Report on the financial performance of the reinsurance agreement. • Recommends actions to management throughout the enterprise, identifies trends, risks, and indicators through analysis of financial and nonfinancial data. • Accountable for the preparation and submission of monthly and quarterly reports serving both internal and external customers. Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned. Seeks out projects and takes leadership role with increasing frequency. • Document key processes, decisions, and insights. • Collaborate with key stakeholders within strategic business units and finance & actuarial to understand and support business strategy and product development. WHAT YOULL BRING: • Strong knowledge of finance and/or accounting practices and procedures preferably common to an insurance industry finance environment. • Strong data analysis and analytical skills. • Aptitude for technical learning and application to tactical business problems. Must have the ability to learn modern technologies and apply this knowledge to optimize processes. • Creative analytical person with a focus on process improvement/automation and reducing manual work. • Self-driven with demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity, influence change with peers, management, and business partners. • You promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do. • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico. PREFERRED: • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. • Experience in Reinsurance, insurance accounting or financial reporting in the insurance industry. • Advanced Excel skills, including experience with Power Query/Pivot.
