Billing Coordinator - REMOTE Location: Fully Remote (after training) Training Requirement: Must complete a 3-week in-person training in Albany, NY before transitioning to remote work. Must reside within the Albany or surrounding area. About the Role Join a dynamic team where your expertise in collections makes a real impact! As a Billing Coordinator, you'll take ownership of delinquent loan accounts and navigate complex collection issues with confidence. This role demands a proactive mindset, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to compliance with state and federal regulations. Key Responsibilities • Manage assigned accounts, including negative share balances, MasterCard accounts, and consumer/small balance commercial loans. • Maintain accurate records to support collection efforts. • Stay current on laws related to bankruptcy, foreclosure, repossession, and debt collection practices. • Recommend actions such as repossessions, charge-offs, or escalated collection efforts. • Ensure compliance with the Telephone Collection Practices Act and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. • Understand regulations on right of offset and freezing funds for SSI, SSD, and pensions. • Build and maintain relationships with attorneys, repossession agents, and other vendors. • Track and report collection figures as directed by management. • Deliver exceptional member service while meeting performance goals. Essential Skills • Proficiency in handling negative shares and consumer loans 18-29 days past due. • Experience in call center operations and outbound calling. • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including V-lookups. • Background in clerical work, data entry, customer service, and administration. • Knowledge of collection practices and compliance standards. Qualifications • High School Diploma required. • Minimum 2 years of experience in telephone collections or call center environment preferred. Work Environment • Flexible scheduling Monday-Friday, 8 AM-7 PM (8-hour shifts within this window). • Rotational Saturday shifts: 9 AM-1 PM. • Three weeks of onsite training in Albany, NY followed by a fully remote role. • Enjoy a supportive company culture and opportunities for career growth within a leading financial institution. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
