[Remote] Engineer, Software Engineering

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Sephora USA Inc. is seeking an Engineer in Software Engineering to work in San Francisco, CA. The role involves analyzing complex applications problems, developing solutions, and maintaining software development and microservices while collaborating with product and engineering teams. Responsibilities • Analyze science, engineering, business, and other data processing problems to develop and implement solutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues, and network concerns for our organization. • Responsible for the ownership and evolution of software development and microservices. • Design, build, and maintain reusable and reliable code. • Perform bug fixes and performance improvements. • Work with product and engineering team to understand requirements, evaluate new features, and help drive decisions. • Update software or enhance existing software capabilities. • Deliver systems that provide insight in operational metrics and help resolve issues. Skills • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or a related field and 5 years of experience as a Computer Systems Engineer, Software Engineer, or related position. • In the alternative the employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Information Systems or a related field and 2 years of experience as a Computer Systems Engineer, Software Engineer, or related position. • Must have experience with: Java; JavaScript; HTML/CSS; Kafka; IntelliJ; VS Code; Splunk; Grafana; SQL; MySQL; GraphQL; MongoDB; Spring; Redis; designing data ingestion pipelines; architected, optimizing and scaling large services built in Scala.
