[Remote] Engineering / AI Grant Writer (Freelance, Remote)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. ScienceDocs is seeking an experienced Engineering / AI Grant Writer to support our growing portfolio of clients pursuing competitive federal funding. This role involves writing compelling and fundable proposals for various federal research programs, requiring a strong understanding of engineering and AI concepts. Responsibilities • Lead or support the writing of SBIR/STTR and other federal research proposals focused on: • Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning • Optimization & decision support • Robotics, autonomy, and advanced engineering systems • Data-driven and computational research • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, reviewer-friendly narratives • Collaborate with founders, engineers, scientists, and programmatic consultants • Ensure compliance with agency-specific requirements and evaluation criteria • Contribute to technical sections such as Technical Objectives, Work Plans, Innovation, and Commercialization narratives Skills • Demonstrated experience writing funded or highly competitive grant proposals • Strong background in engineering, AI/ML, applied math, computer science, or related fields • Comfortable engaging directly with technical SMEs and asking the right questions • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects • Familiarity with SBIR/STTR structure and reviewer expectations is strongly preferred Company Overview • ScienceDocs is an academic and startup support company.
