Otsuka Pharmaceutical Companies (U.S.) is seeking an Executive Director to lead the Access Strategy and Marketing team for their CNS portfolio. This role involves developing U.S. market access strategies and marketing materials, and requires collaboration with various leadership teams to enhance access for patients. Responsibilities • Lead a team responsible for developing access strategies and access marketing materials for Otsuka’s CNS portfolio in the United States, for both in-line and pipeline products • Lead the development and alignment process for the U.S. brand access strategic and operating plans in close collaboration with business and brand leadership as well as market access leadership teams • Accountable for enterprise-wide access strategy and policy shaping in partnership with BU counterpart • Create an environment of constant growth for the access strategy and marketing team that maximizes engagement and effectiveness, ensuring that the team is staffed with top talent within the industry • Lead a team to define the strategies to achieve access goals, including how to message, position, and leverage Medical, Value and Evidence, advocacy & evidence assessments, advocacy groups, and a product's clinical value proposition to compete and secure access for patients • Identify evidence generation needs based on market access events and coordinating with brand team, HEOR/Medical teams to inform the development of value propositions • Work closely with the global product team and U.S. brand team to integrate the U.S. Market access perspective into key development programs for in-line and pipeline medicines ensure alignment around delivery against access goals at each stage of a product’s lifecycle • Work closely with the U.S and global business development teams ensuring U.S. market access perspectives are reflected in acquisition deals that may be under consideration • Keep a pulse on upcoming legislative actions that impact patient access to Otsuka’s CNS portfolio and shape a cross-functional team to build a response strategy in partnership with the government affairs team. • Set strategy and support development of pricing and contracting in collaboration with the Pricing & Contracting team. • Leads strategic transformation initiatives that may cross multiple therapeutic areas • Lead market access channel assessments, including direct brand-specific payer/advocacy market research activities and build recommendations on the best way to approach our existing channels • Ensure Market Access is updated on the latest market dynamics, changes and trends, and that key insights are incorporated into business plan and strategy • Work closely with the brand marketing team for the creation of Market Access specific collateral and pull-through materials for specific clients and customer relevant campaigns • Recognized as a key advisor and thought partner for US access strategy and marketing • Travel expected up to 30% Skills • Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited four-year college or university (or the equivalent if education obtained outside of the United States) • 12+ years of demonstrated success in market access, pricing, contracting, reimbursement strategy, and payer marketing • Strong understanding of the complex and rapidly evolving factors influencing US market access, including reimbursement trends, payer concerns and healthcare policy • Strong understanding of the US payer environment, payer market dynamics, payer marketing principles and how healthcare players make decisions across private & public channels • Proven track record of developing and executing strategic plans, particularly in the pharma or healthcare sector • Experience in marketing, product launches, and lifecycle management • Experience working closely with other functions such as Pricing & Contracting, Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, and Government Affairs to ensure alignment in market access strategies • Demonstrated ability to lead direct team members and cross-functional teams that drive results in a dynamic environment • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written • MBA or master’s degree preferred • In-depth knowledge of and experience in CNS preferred Benefits • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, prescription drug coverage • Company provided basic life • Accidental death & dismemberment • Short-term and long-term disability insurance • Tuition reimbursement • Student loan assistance • A generous 401(k) match • Flexible time off • Paid holidays • Paid leave programs • Other company provided benefits Company Overview • There are two Otsuka pharmaceutical industry companies in the U.S.: Otsuka America Pharmaceutical, Inc.
