[Remote] Field Service Technician

Atlas Copco is a global leader in industrial equipment solutions, seeking a Field Service Technician to perform maintenance and repairs on air compressors and related equipment. The role involves troubleshooting, documenting work, and providing excellent customer service while adhering to safety procedures. Responsibilities Safely perform routine, preventative maintenance and repairs on all brands of air compressors, dryers, gas generators, and ancillary equipment. Preventative maintenance should be conducted in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations (with regard to schedule and scope) Troubleshoot and perform diagnostics on malfunctioning equipment, document root causes for malfunctions, and perform repairs as suggested by diagnostics and assessment. Prior to and following preventative maintenance and repairs, test and document the proper operating parameters of the equipment noting and reviewing any abnormalities with the customer Document and discuss recommended repairs to customer's equipment to ensure maximum uptime and minimize unplanned downtime Document all work performed daily using company-provided hardware and software. Completes timesheets daily in TimeClock Plus. Proficient in updating all work orders and providing detailed visit reports to the customer with PCA (Problem, Cause, Action) as well as customer signature Develop rapport with customers and other technicians through effective communication interpersonal skills and professionalism, Customer Pre calls are done prior to the visit Provide basic tools to accomplish the job along with normal maintenance of tools and equipment Display the ability to absorb a higher level of learning including VSD’s, refrigeration, industrial networks, remote monitoring, and air audits. Provide a high level of customer service, responding to customer needs and working to satisfy customer expectations Display the ability to manage time accordingly. Must have the ability to work and solve problems independently. Always promote and practice proper safety procedures and the correct use of personal protective equipment Work as a team sharing knowledge with colleagues and participate in on-the-job training of self and others as skills allow Skills 1-2 years of technical experience maintaining and repairing various types of Atlas Copco air compressors Strong mechanical and electrical skills with demonstrated expertise in the maintenance, overhaul, and repair of a wide variety of industrial equipment, including electrical, hydraulics and/or pneumatics High School Diploma or equivalent required Able to work independently with strong self-management and professionalism Able to complete work within assigned deadlines Computer proficiency as required for communication, research, work orders and programming various controllers Excellent customer service and communication skills (verbal and written) Must be able to embrace challenges without avoiding challenging situations Employees will be subject to random drug testing Must be fluent in English and have a valid driver's license Must be able to lift upto 50 lbs. regularly and work in industrial environments including extremes in temperature with continuous walking, reaching, bending, and kneeling Extensive travel to customer locations, including out-of-town and overnight travel Available for possible work on evenings, weekends, and holidays Travel within all of US Technical training in electrical, hydraulics, and/or pneumatics preferred Level 1 Air Academy training, and Level 1 or 2 training for primary equipment Benefits Excellent compensation package, including a flexible benefits plan, and generous 401 (k) retirement plan Health insurance/ Dental Insurance/ Vision insurance Competitive Paid time off Life & Disability insurance Company Overview Atlas Copco manufactures industrial tools and equipment.
