Key Responsibilities As a Financial Accountant at Wells Fargo, you will be responsible for a wide range of financial accounting and reporting activities. Your key responsibilities will include: Providing consultation to senior management on financial accounting matters, including complex transactions and regulatory requirements Performing complex bookkeeping, financial statement, and regulatory reporting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements Collecting and reviewing financial data for financial and regulatory reporting, and analyzing data to identify trends and areas for improvement Reviewing data from general managers, unit reports, and various financial systems to ensure accuracy and completeness Preparing and reviewing account reconciliations and certificates, and ensuring compliance with internal control principles Analyzing projects related to financial accounting methods, procedures, or systems, and identifying opportunities for improvement Performing ongoing financial control functions, including internal control principles and risk management Providing practical advice and training to individuals on financial accounting and reporting matters Supporting compliance and risk management requirements, and collaborating with stakeholders to drive business outcomes Collaborating and consulting with stakeholders on the business, including finance, risk, and compliance teams Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following essential qualifications: 2+ years of experience in finance, accounting, analysis, financial reporting, or risk reporting, or equivalent demonstrated by work experience, training, military experience, or education Experience with SEC/regulatory quarterly filings and Fiserv knowledge/understanding Implementing a COSO-based internal control review on Sarbanes-Oxley Military intelligence or analytical experience, including operational management, project management, mission development management, and financial management Experience with financial statement preparation, US GAAP, and financial analysis Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access Strong knowledge/experience with general ledger reconciliation and automation tools Independent judgment and creative problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues in a matrix environment Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation Mainframe/regional public accounting/financial services experience Intermediate Essbase/Smartview and advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables Experience with credit card industry reporting and knowledge of business/commercial loan products What We Offer At Wells Fargo, we offer a comprehensive benefits package and a range of perks to support your well-being and career growth.
