Position Overview – Remote General Education Adjunct – Anatomy & Physiology In this fully remote, part‑time adjunct faculty role, you will design and deliver high‑impact learning experiences in anatomy and physiology for undergraduate nursing students. Working under the guidance of the Dean of General Education, you will blend virtual lectures, interactive labs, and technology‑enhanced assessments to ensure students master complex physiological concepts and can apply them in clinical settings. Key Responsibilities Curriculum Delivery: Prepare and present engaging lectures, tutorials, and laboratory demonstrations using a mix of synchronous video sessions, recorded content, and interactive simulation tools. Student Engagement: Foster an inclusive, supportive virtual classroom environment where every student feels heard, motivated, and challenged to achieve mastery. Assessment & Grading: Design formative and summative assessments (quizzes, written exams, practical performance tasks), grade assignments promptly, and provide actionable feedback. Academic Advising: Offer individualized tutoring, mentorship, and academic counseling to students identified as “at‑risk,” partnering with the Student Success Coordinator for targeted interventions. Course Administration: Maintain accurate grade books, monitor attendance, track learning outcomes, and submit required documentation to the registrar. Professional Development: Participate in at least two in‑service training sessions per academic year (including one distance‑education workshop) and document a minimum of two professional development activities annually. Committee Involvement: Serve on academic committees that advance curriculum innovation, student success initiatives, and program accreditation efforts. Continuous Improvement: Collect and analyze student performance data, adjust instructional strategies, and contribute to the refinement of the anatomy & physiology syllabus. Essential Qualifications – What We’re Looking For A Master’s degree or higher in Anatomy, Physiology, Biomedical Sciences, or a closely related field from an institution accredited by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). At least 15 credit hours—or the equivalent—in the specific subject area of anatomy and/or physiology. Demonstrated experience (minimum three years preferred) teaching at the post‑secondary level, preferably within nursing, allied health, or pre‑professional programs. Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS) such as Canvas, Blackboard, or Moodle, and comfort with video‑conferencing platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.). Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear, student‑friendly language. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage multiple course components simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications – The “Nice‑to‑Have” Extras Doctorate (Ph.D. or D.Sc.) in a related discipline.
