Job Overview As a Remote Grant Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining the financial integrity and compliance of grant programs, working closely with our team to drive success. Key Responsibilities Establish and manage grants and sub-grants for state and federal funding sources, ensuring compliance with grant guidelines and regulatory standards. Craft and oversee grant budgets, financial reports, and forecasts to ensure accurate financial management and compliance. Manage grant finances, including tracking expenditures, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial statements. Ensure compliance with grant terms, regulatory standards, and accounting principles, collaborating with subcontractors to clarify and uphold grant requirements. Provide training and direction on grant accounting, financial management, and compliance to internal stakeholders. Conduct financial analyses and offer insights to improve the efficiency of grant programs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes. Assist with grant applications, renewals, and closures, ensuring meticulous financial management and compliance. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you will need: A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in grant accounting, ideally with consulting exposure. Proficiency in grant management, compliance, and reporting standards. Strong skills in financial forecasting and budgeting. Excellent analytical abilities to interpret complex financial data and offer actionable recommendations. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to convey financial concepts clearly. Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Exceptional organizational skills to effectively manage multiple projects and clients. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: CPA or equivalent certification. Experience working in the nonprofit sector. Knowledge of industry-specific grant management and compliance regulations.
