[Remote] Intern, European Public Policy

The European Public Policy Intern will conduct research, write, and present policy initiatives on current issues important to the organization and policymakers. Responsibilities • Identify potential strategic partners to increase European participation in ASTM’s technical committees and advance broader utilization of ASTM standards, services and initiatives • Identify linkages in areas such as policy, education and training, research and development, standardization, proficiency testing and certification • Map potential outreach targets at standardization organizations, universities, research facilities, trade associations, companies, and think tanks across Europe Skills • Must be enrolled in a related Bachelor's degree program as a rising Junior or Senior at an accredited College or University • Excellent writing and research skills • Strong interpersonal skills • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications • Eligibility to work in the USA • Sound judgment • Quick learner • Self-motivated with strong work ethic • Eagerness to help all teams as needed • Problem-solving and negotiation skills • Basic level of curiosity about technical standards and related business issues • Ability to accept feedback • Ability to work under pressure • Frequent and close visual work at desk or computer • Frequent sitting and working at desk • Frequent verbal and written communication with team and other stakeholders by phone or video conferencing Company Overview • Over 13,000 ASTM standards operate globally.
