Job Title: Pharmacy TechnicianJob Description As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for managing and processing coverage determination requests from healthcare providers. You will need to evaluate these requests and determine if pharmacist intervention is necessary. Your role will involve obtaining verbal authorizations, requesting detailed clinical information, and approving requests based on set criteria. Additionally, you will document decisions in the PBM system and communicate outcomes to providers and members. Responsibilities • Track and triage coverage determination requests submitted by providers. • Determine if pharmacist review is needed. • Obtain verbal authorizations and request detailed clinical information from prescribers. • Approve coverage determination requests based on defined criteria. • Enter and document coverage determination request decisions into the PBM system. • Notify providers and/or members of coverage determination decisions. • Respond to client inquiries regarding authorization approvals and PBM online applications. • Refer requests for specialty drugs to delegated vendors or clients for processing. • Contact providers for additional information to facilitate reviews. • Notify physicians, providers, and members of request decisions. Essential Skills • Prior authorization • Data entry • Pharmacy experience • Customer service • Pharmacy technician license • Computer skills Additional Skills & Qualifications • Proficiency in Microsoft applications • Experience with managed care • Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid - Work Environment This position offers a 100% remote work environment. The start time is flexible, ranging from as early as 8am EST to no later than 10am EST, with a one-hour lunch break. Training will occur from 10am to 6:30pm EST, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. The role includes rotating weekends every 4-6 weeks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
