Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled PR Associate to join our Public Relations team at Southwest Airlines. As a part-time remote position, you will play a crucial role in enhancing and maintaining our positive corporate image and relationships with various stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: • Media Relations: Assist in preparing press releases, media kits, and other materials to promote Southwest Airlines, build and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, and other media professionals, and monitor media coverage to track the effectiveness of PR campaigns. • Crisis Communication Support: Support the team in managing crisis communication efforts by drafting messaging and communication plans, and assist in the preparation of timely responses to inquiries from media and stakeholders during critical situations. • Content Creation: Create compelling content for various communication channels, including the company website, social media, and internal newsletters, and collaborate with design teams to develop visually appealing and effective communication materials. • Research and Analysis: Conduct research on industry trends, competitor PR activities, and audience perceptions to inform strategic decisions, and analyze the impact of public relations initiatives to suggest areas for improvement. • Event Coordination: Assist in planning and organizing media events, press conferences, and promotional activities, and coordinate logistics, attendance lists, and follow-up communication with attendees. • Stakeholder Engagement: Support the development of internal communications strategies to keep employees informed and engaged, and build strong relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive messaging across the organization. Requirements: • Education: Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field. • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, or a similar role. • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with PR software and tools, as well as experience with social media platforms and content management systems. • Personal Traits: Reliable, resourceful, and exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively handle communications with diverse stakeholders and manage PR challenges with empathy.
