Job Overview We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Health Informaticist to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in improving healthcare outcomes and standardizing clinical workflows within the VA Electronic Health Record (EHR) ecosystem. As a Remote Senior Health Informaticist, you'll be an integral part of our agile development team, working closely with subject matter experts, health informatics specialists, and clinical professionals to analyze clinical workflows, develop solutions, and drive the adoption of innovative healthcare technologies. Key Responsibilities • Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams to assess and analyze clinical workflows across VHA, identifying opportunities to improve healthcare outcomes and standardize clinical workflows within the VA EHR ecosystem. • Create lean business cases that include feature descriptions and metrics to demonstrate the value of the team's solutions, driving informed decision-making and prioritization. • Develop high-quality documents for EHR training, incorporating relevant terminology, abbreviations, graphics, and examples to support effective training and adoption. • Analyze Electronic Health Records clinical workflows and clinical data to define new approaches that enhance patient care, provider, and patient satisfaction, and drive continuous improvement. • Utilize standard practices and techniques, such as Value Stream Maps, to validate, interpret, and analyze clinical concepts, data, workflows, and trends, informing solution development and optimization. Essential Qualifications • A minimum of ten years of experience working as a clinical informaticist on healthcare-related IT projects, with a strong understanding of clinical informatics principles and practices. • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, such as medicine, nursing, bio-informatics, or pharmacy, with knowledge of direct patient care and a strong clinical background. • Proficency in creating value stream maps of current clinical workflows, with the ability to analyze and optimize clinical processes. • Advanced skills in MS Forms, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, SharePoint, and reporting and analytics tools, with the ability to leverage these tools to drive solution development and optimization. • Excellent written and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas and solutions effectively to diverse stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications • Direct experience working with Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration stakeholders and healthcare providers, with a deep understanding of their needs and challenges. • Experience with electronic health record technologies and implementations, specifically Oracle Health, with a strong understanding of the clinical and technical aspects of EHR systems. Clearance Requirements • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. • Candidates must be a US Citizen or possess a Green Card, with the ability to work in the United States.
