Renewable Studies Engineer

They are seeking a mid-level Electrical System Studies Engineer to perform electrical power system modeling and analysis for renewable facilities, including solar and wind projects, while maintaining client relationships and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. Responsibilities Creates and develops quality studies and reports including but not limited to short circuit, reactive power/load flow, arc flash, dynamic, transient, harmonic (pre & post), interconnection compliance, ampacity, grounding, as well as other related studies and calculations Assists with Client contacts and communication pertaining to specific assignments and meetings. Maintain strong and responsive Company-Client relationships Maintains a strong understanding and applications of applicable Codes and Standards Maintains high ethical and professional standards Attends conferences, training workshops, seminars, regular undergraduate, and graduate classes as appropriate for advancement and as required to maintain quality of work Attend safety training and follow safety rules and guidelines May occasionally assist with performing equipment, control system, communications, troubleshooting, and relay field testing and start-up and commissioning services Other job-related responsibilities as assigned Secondary responsibilities may include checking and/or performing detailed design of all aspects of electrical power systems to include one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, control and relaying schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, conduit, and cable sizing/routing, grounding design, writing of equipment specifications, project and construction cost estimates, and project scheduling Skills Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution, electric power option preferred 1 – 4 years of relevant engineering or field experience Proficiency in power system modeling software such as: Cable Ampacity software: (Cymcap), Steady State software: (Required: PowerFactory or ETAP), System Protection & Arc Flash software: (Required: ETAP), Grounding software: (CDEGS or WinIGS), Possesses effective written and oral communications skills, Good interpersonal and people skills Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis Licensure: FE, PE is a plus, but not required Nice to have: SKM Power Tools; Easypower; Aspen; Windmil for Steady State software Nice to have: Easypower, CAPE, Aspen, Power Factory; SKM Power Tools for System Protection & Arc Flash software Nice to have: Interconnection & Dynamic Modeling: (PSSe, PSLF) Nice to have: Transient Studies software: (PSCAD) Benefits 100% Employer paid team member premiums for Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance, and Long-Term Disability Voluntary Life Insurance 401(k) with employer matching; 100% immediate vesting Annual & discretionary bonus programs Paid vacation and sick time Employer paid licensure (FE/PE), certifications, seminars, & conferences Paid parental leave Tuition reimbursement Eight (8) paid holidays including a floating holiday to use at your discretion Annual Team Building Hybrid work environment with remote flexibility Career development, training, and coaching opportunities Pet insurance Company Overview NEI provides professional expertise and design engineering services for all aspects of power systems engineering.
