Robotics Deployment Engineer (US)
Description • Be the human link between cutting-edge embodied AI and real-world productivity. As a Robotics Deployment Engineer you will own the end-to-end rollout of Sereact’s mobile manipulation systems at Fortune-500 warehouses and e-commerce sites across the United States. • Lead on-site installation of AI-powered robotic arms, AMRs, 3-D vision sensors, and safety systems. You will uncrate hardware, run calibration routines, tune grippers for fragile SKUs, and validate that every bolt, cable, and ROS 2 node is production-ready. • Translate customer workflows into robot behavior. You will study pick paths, bin layouts, and WMS integrations, then adapt our motion-planning and perception stacks to hit throughput KPIs (≥600 picks/hr) while maintaining <0.1 % damage rates. • Run rigorous acceptance tests: cycle-time benchmarks, stress tests with peak-season order profiles, and 24-hour burn-ins. Capture logs, analyze ROS bags, and file concise bug reports that enable our Munich-based AI team to iterate overnight. • Debug under pressure. When a vacuum gripper loses suction on a shrink-wrapped bundle at 2 a.m., you will trace the issue from PLC signals to Gazebo simulation, hot-swap end-effectors, and get the line back up before the next shift change. • Optimize continuously. Use Python and C++ to tweak grasp poses, tune cost-maps, and squeeze an extra 5 % speed out of motion planners. Containerize improvements with Docker so they can be rolled out to the entire fleet via OTA updates. • Train and upskill client operators. Create quick-start videos, run lunch-and-learn sessions, and build troubleshooting playbooks so warehouse staff feel confident working alongside their new robotic co-workers. • Feed the product loop. Document every edge-case (poly-bagged apparel, frost-covered totes, uneven floors) and share weekly field reports that directly influence the next release of our perception models and control policies. • Travel up to 75 % across North America for multi-week deployments, then provide remote support to European sites during off-cycles. Expect the first three months to be based in Stuttgart for intensive onboarding and joint debugging sessions with the founding engineers. • Champion safety and compliance. Perform risk assessments per ISO 10218, lead lock-out/tag-out drills, and ensure every deployment passes local OSHA and ANSI standards. • Leave each site with measurable impact: reduced labor cost per pick, improved ergonomics for human workers, and a living case study that sales can showcase to the next prospect.
