Scheduling Rep
About the position The Scheduling Rep oversees patient scheduling for appointments and outpatient testing, procedures, and exams. This position has a solid understanding of insurance eligibility, performs updates and corrections for insurance information, and evaluates the medical necessity of procedures for Medicare patients. This position works closely with insurance verifiers to authorize scheduled patient services, and keeps up-to-date documentation on patient accounts and eligibility. The ability to compassionately engage in conversation with patients on their responsibilities for Copayment, Prepayment and Outstanding Balances. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Obtain notification of test or procedure to schedule. Work with Physician, Physician office staff, and hospital staff in obtaining and supplying information relative to the test or service to be rendered. Contact patient and/or Physician for all necessary demographic, medical, and financial information. Update scheduling system with test or procedure information. Obtain financial verification and pre-certification as required for patient visits. Document financial and pre-certification information according to defined processes. Refer patients to the Financial Counselor to finalize payment for services. Enter all required information to send billing electronically.
