Senior Actuarial Analyst - Remote (US Residents - Eastern or Central Time Zones Only) - Hunter Recruitment Advisors - Vermont - work from home job Company: Hunter Recruitment Advisors Job description: Sr. Actuarial Analyst Full-time Position POSITION SUMMARY MCIC is seeking an analyst with industry experience to join our growing actuarial team. In this newly created role, the Senior Actuarial Analyst will draw upon both traditional and emerging analytical tools to support the company’s core pricing and reserving functions as well as to meet the evolving needs of our Subscribers. This role will provide the opportunity to work remotely with a small group of actuaries who are part of a larger Insurance Operations team, while also building relationships with external actuarial partners and internal teams such as Claims, Patient Safety, and Information Technology. PRIMARY TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES • Develop and refine complex pricing and reserving models using established statistical and actuarial methods to support the mission of providing our Subscribers with a long-term, stable, cost-effective source of insurance coverage • Strive to continuously improve accuracy and efficiency of data and processes • Perform technical reviews of actuarial models to ensure accuracy and consistency • Periodic reviews of key model assumptions • Partner with our Data Analytics team to develop, implement, and monitor dashboards to identify emerging trends and insights into program performance • Effectively communicate model results and drivers to actuarial team to help us arrive at optimal solutions • Prepare presentation materials and supporting information for discussions with our Subscribers • Collaborate with outside actuarial partner to ensure that projects are performed in accordance with our specifications • Collaborate with other business units to provide input and expertise and to incorporate changes to model assumptions • Stay abreast of industry trends and drivers and share relevant information with the organization • Research emerging actuarial techniques and assist with implementation into existing models POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS • Relevant P&C insurance industry experience, preferably with medical professional liability coverage • Actuaries with ACAS/FCAS credentials or actuarial students progressing toward credentials will be considered • Effective written and oral communication skills • Strong analytical skills, including ability to identify trends and draw conclusions from data in a logical, systematic way • Attention to detail and technical accuracy • Ability to understand how complex models fit into the broader landscape of the organization • Fast learner who can take initiative and ownership of projects • Intellectual curiosity • Team player • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other data aggregation and visualization tools • Proficiency in programing languages such as R, SQL, or Python is a plus ADDITIONAL DETAILS The salary range for this role is from $80,000 - $140,000 + bonus opportunity. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. This is a remote position and MCIC Vermont. Qualified candidates must reside in a US state that is located within the eastern or central time zone.
