Your Role Senior Director, Global Pharmacovigilance The Senior Director, Global Pharmacovigilance (GPV) provides global leadership for all pharmacovigilance activities across Elanco, ensuring regulatory compliance, product safety, and trust with regulators and customers worldwide. This role oversees the global pharmacovigilance organization, supports the Qualified Person for Pharmacovigilance (QPPV), and partners closely with Regulatory Affairs, R&D, Commercial, Quality, and external stakeholders to safeguard Elanco’s global product portfolio. Your Responsibilities • Lead and oversee a global pharmacovigilance organization, ensuring consistent compliance with regional and local regulatory requirements while minimizing reputational risk. • Support the QPPV with appropriate resources and infrastructure to fulfill all legal pharmacovigilance obligations. • Establish strategic direction, operating standards, processes, and systems to ensure high-quality pharmacovigilance outcomes at sustainable cost. • Recruit, develop, and retain top pharmacovigilance talent, fostering strong leadership capability, psychological safety, and continuous development. • Represent Elanco externally on product safety and pharmacovigilance matters, including engagement with regulatory authorities, industry associations, and key opinion leaders. • Chair the Pharmacovigilance Leadership Team (PVLT) and contribute as a senior member of the Global Safety Council (GSC), Event Assessment Committee (EAC), and Regulatory Affairs and Pharmacovigilance Leadership Team. • Leverage pharmacovigilance data and scientific insights to support benefit-risk assessments, signal detection, product defense, and improved customer experience across the product lifecycle. What You Need to Succeed (Minimum Qualifications) • Education: DVM and/or Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in a scientific discipline applicable to animal health. • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in senior leadership roles within regulated drug development, with experience in pharmacovigilance and regulatory affairs strongly preferred. • Core Capabilities: • Proven global leadership and organizational transformation experience • Deep understanding of pharmacovigilance, regulatory affairs, and associated scientific disciplines • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications) • Established global network with regulatory authorities and external key opinion leaders. • Demonstrated success managing complex drug safety and regulatory challenges. • Strong understanding of animal health business operations and lifecycle management. • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity while balancing compliance, risk, and customer experience. • High emotional intelligence, resilience, and a business-growth mindset.
