Job Summary We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our Integrated Operations Division, Engineering Group, where you'll play a critical role in providing engineering support for the maintenance and operation of aircraft and related equipment. As a Senior Engineer, you'll work closely with our team of engineers, technicians, and maintenance personnel to ensure that our aircraft are airworthy and meet regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Conduct training for Specialists in areas of expertise Serve as a guide to other Engineers and provide technical support as needed Lead project teams and facilitate issue resolution Coordinate with manufacturers and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with regulations and Company manuals Develop customized procedures and special instructions for repairs, modifications, inspections, and other maintenance activities Stay informed about daily airline operations, including field of liability, and review daily needs in accordance with airline/departmental targets and management mandates Investigate aircraft/part issues that may cause delays or cancellations, significant labor or material usage, or breaks in maintenance operations, and determine corrective actions Provide engineering support as needed to address discrepant circumstances affecting aircraft or parts Respond to requests from Maintenance and other airline divisions for technical support Develop activity plans for fleet/multi-fleet and part engineering projects and pursue detailed attitudes in accordance with assessed needs Coordinate with other airline divisions to ensure effective and efficient execution of engineering manners Prepare engineering documents to implement technical manners by providing customized procedures for repairs, modifications, inspections, or other maintenance activities Maintain knowledge of current and upcoming regulations that impact areas of responsibility and ensure that all engineering activities maintain compliance with regulatory requirements Utilize available resources to increase levels of technical expertise and practical experience Effectively engage with frontline colleagues and management Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need: A four-year degree in an engineering field or related engineering license 1 year of engineering experience in a related field or 2 years of experience without a degree A&P license Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and other applications Ability to analyze technical data and make informed decisions Demonstrated fitness, capacity, and readiness to take on new roles and responsibilities Ability to prepare and deliver presentations that promote recognition of solutions Ability to interact with internal and external customers effectively What We Offer At American Airlines, we're committed to providing our employees with a comprehensive benefits package that includes: Medical benefits, including health, dental, prescription, and vision coverage Virtual doctor visits and flexible spending accounts Wellness programs that provide tools, resources, and support to help you maintain a healthy work-life balance 401(k) program with employer contributions Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and pet insurance Discounts on hotels, cars, travel, and other perks Why Join American Airlines?
