About the position The Sr Group Risk Specialist provides a broad range of risk analysis, reporting and/or support to business partners and acts as a specialist/expert in providing guidance/advice on a range of operational risk related matters within assigned or own area of specialization. Provides vision and leadership in directing and implementing the Company's strategic operational risk management program. Builds and maintains strong relationships with key internal and external partners. Enhances internal controls, expense management and quality assurance through the identification and recommendation of process improvement opportunities to reduce Operational Risk throughout the organization. The Senior Group Risk Specialist provides a comprehensive and diverse range of risk management expertise to business leaders. Leads and supports the implementation of appropriate risk frameworks and leading related management activities to mitigate enterprise and/or business-wide risk exposures for key business segment of the Bank or functional area. May provide oversight, commentary, and recommendations based on overall strategy and industry best practices. Responsibilities • Provides a broad range of risk analysis, reporting and/or support to business partners. • Acts as a specialist/expert in providing guidance/advice on operational risk related matters. • Builds and maintains strong relationships with key internal and external partners. • Enhances internal controls, expense management and quality assurance. • Identifies and recommends process improvement opportunities to reduce Operational Risk. • Leads and supports the implementation of appropriate risk frameworks. • May provide oversight, commentary, and recommendations based on overall strategy. • Compiles reports on overall trends, risks, and issues. • Develops and maintains comprehensive knowledge of Company and strategic project goals. • Analyzes potential risks and ensures escalation of key risks to appropriate areas. • Establishes and provides ongoing analysis and reporting on operational risk. • Supports the development and monitoring of key risk indicators. Requirements • Undergraduate degree or technical certificate and/or 10+ years relevant experience. • Advanced knowledge of risk management governance, programs, policies, practices, operating frameworks & reporting. • Knowledge of risk management environment, standards, regulations and mitigation. • Ability to contribute to strategic direction of the function and provide advice to senior leadership. • Skill in mentoring and coaching. • Skill in using advanced analytical software tools, data analysis methods and specialized reporting techniques. • Advanced ability to lead, plan, implement, and evaluate program/project activities. • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across teams and functions.
