Job Responsibilities As a Senior Manager I, Data Science, you will be responsible for leading and driving initiatives for future operations across Walmart's omnichannel supply chain. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role within the organization with expectations to deliver quick results. Your key responsibilities will include: Managing and executing entire projects from start to finish, including cross-functional project management, data collection and control, analysis and modeling, and the communication of insights and recommendations. Building flexible and complex supply chain models and processes to optimize supply chain procedures with the goal of delivering an exceptional customer experience while balancing operating cost and resource efficiency. Demonstrating a high level of innovation and creativity while developing solutions to improve existing business processes within the supply chain, using techniques such as statistical analysis, regression modeling, and optimization. Identifying areas of opportunity and driving the implementation of results through cross-functional engagement to enable quick wins and continuous improvement. Leading the execution of pilots to demonstrate business impact. Creating and delivering robust metrics and dashboards to enable data-driven change. Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong educational background, preferably a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or Supply Chain Management. You will also need to have: At least 3 years of experience in supply chain optimization models. At least 3 years of managerial experience. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. The ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks while ensuring deadlines are met and data output is accurate and relevant to the business. The ability to navigate ambiguity and make independent decisions about what data and approach is best for the task at hand. Experience working with large dataset mining tools and open-source software tools (e.g., R, Python, HiveQL, Spark). Experience with network modeling tools (e.g., Llamasoft Supply Chain Guru), network optimization, and long-range planning. Broad experience or knowledge of supply chain domains and related information systems - distribution/transportation, procurement, planning, manufacturing, and inventory management. Retail industry experience is preferred. Preferred Qualifications In addition to the requirements listed above, we are looking for candidates with: An MBA, MS, or PhD in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or Supply Chain Management. Experience with huge dataset mining tools and open-source programming tools (e.g., R, Python, HiveQL, Spark). Experience with network modeling tools (e.g., Llamasoft Supply Chain Guru), network optimization, and long-range planning. Broad experience or knowledge of supply chain domains and related information systems - distribution/transportation, procurement, planning, manufacturing, and inventory management. Retail industry experience.
