Right now, we’re looking for an experienced Senior Manager of Search Engine Marketing (SEM) who will be responsible for leading and managing our SEM initiatives, driving paid traffic growth and enhancing the overall digital presence of Spark. This role involves developing and implementing effective SEM strategies, managing Google, Bing and Apple accounts, and working cross-functionally with various teams to ensure the successful execution of SEM plans. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SEM, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This is a remote role, based in the US. What You’ll Do • SEM Strategy Development: Oversee the day-to-day management of paid search campaigns across assigned clients, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and performance delivery. Monitor pacing, budgets, and KPIs, implementing optimizations to drive efficiency and effectiveness. • Vendor Management: Oversee the performance of the outsourced SEM vendor, ensuring they meet deliverables, deadlines, and quality standards. Facilitate clear communication and provide direction to maximize vendor efficiency. • Testing & Innovation: Contribute to test-and-learn roadmaps, including ad copy tests, keyword expansions, and feature adoption. Stay current on search platform updates and provide recommendations on new tools, features, or betas that could improve client performance. • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track, analyze, and report on key SEM metrics and performance against established goals. Utilize analytics tools to provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement. • Cross-Functional Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with performance marketing, engineering, product, content creation, and web development teams to ensure cohesive execution of SEM strategies across all digital platforms. • Industry Research and Trends: Keep abreast of the latest SEM trends, algorithm changes, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge. What You’ll Bring • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field. • Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Google Analytics, SEM certifications) is a plus. • Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience managing paid search campaigns (Google, Pmax, Bing, Apple). • 2+ years managing paid app campaign via Google and Apple. • Prior experience managing outsourced vendors is essential. • Strong understanding of search engine algorithms, keyword research tools, and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush, Moz). • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to enhance SEM performance. • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external vendors. Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner. • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience in mentoring and developing teams. • Proactive and strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
