We're now seeking a talented Senior Power Sector Modeler Analyst to join our efforts in supporting the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's transition to green power under the Low Emissions Electricity Program. About the Role We're looking for a highly skilled Temporary Power Sector Modeler Analyst/Senior Analyst to contribute to the development of our eGRID database and support the growth of renewable energy in the United States. As a key member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in implementing analytical methods, leading power sector modeling, and engaging with clients. Core Responsibilities As a Senior Power Sector Modeler Analyst, your primary responsibilities will include: * Developing and optimizing power sector models to understand consumption-based emissions rates and support the growth of green power * Collecting, cleaning, and managing quantitative data for statistical analysis, modeling, and simulation * Conducting uncertainty analyses and providing insights to inform decision-making * Assisting in the preparation of reports, memos, papers, and presentations for senior environmental managers and stakeholders * Providing analytic task support, including implementing project timelines and coordinating staff to meet milestones * Communicating complex modeling methods and results to clients and stakeholders, including scientific experts, regulators, and the public Requirements and Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: * A strong understanding of the U.S. power sector, including regulatory environments, balancing authority interchanges, and dispatch modeling * Excellent oral communication, writing, and analytical skills * An outstanding academic record and experience in the power sector or a related field * Ability to work effectively in team settings and independently, with latitude for decision-making and initiative * Programming language skills in Python, R, STATA, or SAS (preferred) * Experience with climate change and power sector greenhouse gas emissions (preferred) * Familiarity with Energy Information Administration datasets and forms (preferred) **Education and Experience:** * Analyst: Bachelor's degree + 3 years or Master's degree + 0 years of experience * Senior Analyst: Bachelor's degree + 5 years, Master's degree + 3 years, or PhD + 0 years of experience * Electrical engineering degree or similar (preferred) What We Offer At Abt Global, we're committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce, providing market-competitive salaries, and comprehensive employee benefits.
