As a Senior Software Engineer, Backend, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering high-impact digital products that connect users to cutting-edge electric vehicles. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable backend systems, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to translate complex requirements into seamless technical solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple domains, from vehicle connectivity to production optimization, while mentoring junior engineers and influencing the technical direction of the company. Accountabilities Lead the architecture, design, and development of robust, scalable backend systems for digital products. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions. Implement and maintain best practices for software development, including code reviews, testing, and documentation. Mentor and coach junior engineers, supporting their growth and ensuring high-quality deliverables. Ensure reliability and performance of services, including participation in 24/7 on-call rotations when required. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve backend development processes. Contribute to vehicle connectivity, mapping services, production, inventory optimization, and other digital product systems. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field. 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a focus on backend technologies. Strong proficiency in Go, Python, Java, or Ruby. Experience with relational and/or non-relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis). Knowledge of identity management systems and directory services for user authentication and management (e.g., Azure AD, AWS Cognito, LDAP, Okta). Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and development best practices. Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders. Optional: experience in automotive or manufacturing environments, full-stack development, or AWS-based cloud development. Benefits Competitive salary range: $140,000 – $170,000 (California: $150,000 – $185,000). Annual performance bonus program.
