Service Engineering Technician

This position is supporting Tesla's engineering fleet vehicle's maintenance and repairs. The primary objective of this role is to maintain and assure safe and reliable performance of engineering fleet vehicles. The successful candidate for this position must have a broad background in automotive maintenance and repair. Responsibilities • Perform retrofits/repairs on engineering test vehicles at various test locations domestically • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve mechanical and electrical issues discovered • Provide detailed written and verbal updates to key stake holders • Thorough documentation of all work performed on vehicles through internal software database (JIRA) • Manage necessary parts and consumables required to perform repairs and retrofits • Maintain a clean and organized work environment Requirements • Experience as an Engineering Technician or 3+ years as an Automotive Service Technician • Technical degree/automotive certifications preferred, but not required • Extensive knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools and materials used in the maintenance and repair of vehicle including electrical/software troubleshooting • Work autonomously to solve problems using available resources • Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate remotely • Strong work ethics and organization skills with meticulous attention to detail • Experience with MS office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point) • Flexibility to work long hours and weekends when required • Candidates must have the ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally (Up to 10%) Compensation and Benefits Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: • Aetna PPO and HSA plans > 2 medical plan options with $0 payroll deduction • Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits • Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution • Company Paid (Health Savings Account) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High Deductible Aetna medical plan with HSA • Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) • 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits • Company paid Basic Life, AD&D, short-term and long-term disability insurance • Employee Assistance Program • Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions), and Paid Holidays • Back-up childcare and parenting support resources • Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance • Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs • Tesla Babies program • Commuter benefits • Employee discounts and perks program Expected Compensation $24.40 - $56.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefitsPay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
