Where You Come In As an iOS Engineer at Luma AI , you'll lead the design and development of the next-generation Dream Machine app, transforming it into a fast, responsive, and delightful creative companion. You'll build and own significant architectural components from the ground up, working closely with our product, design, and research teams to bring our foundation models to life on mobile. You'll reimagine what a generative video product feels like in your pocket while balancing technical excellence with intuitive user experience. What You’ll Be Doing Architect and build core features for the Dream Machine app Collaborate closely with designers and researchers to translate product vision into elegant, intuitive mobile experiences Optimize performance for advanced video workflows and real-time media processing Contribute to product strategy and roadmap, advocating for both technical excellence and user experience Write maintainable, well-documented code that supports rapid iteration and product evolution Mentor other engineers and elevate our mobile engineering practices Experience & Skills You’ll Bring 5+ years of experience building iOS applications with Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI Proven track record of shipping polished, user-focused mobile experiences Strong understanding of iOS performance, memory management, and power considerations Experience building and scaling applications with complex stacks, involving networking, persistence, payments, and more. Strong communicator with a collaborative mindset, able to work seamlessly across teams and disciplines What Might Set You Apart Experience with AVFoundation and video processing on iOS Background in creative, media-rich, or camera-based applications Familiarity with integrating AI models into mobile applications History of leading major technical initiatives and mentoring other engineers Your Path to Joining Our interview process is streamlined to respect your time while thoroughly evaluating fit: Initial conversation with our founding team Technical discussion focused on iOS development and system design Practical coding exercise relevant to our product challenges Virtual (or physical) onsite with team members from engineering, design, and product Final discussions about role expectations and team fit This is an on-site role in Palo Alto, California. Given our collaborative work style and the inventive nature of the products we are building, we’re fortunate to have a product team working together in-person. We find our hybrid work schedule ideal in allowing for periods of collaboration and discussion as well as time for focused solo work during each week.
