This position will support global sourcing for Starbucks retail store development initiatives, from furniture and fixtures to artwork and casework-the store doesn’t open without you! We are seeking an out-of-the box thinker who balances the Starbucks missions and values with the confidence and know-how to execute on complex global initiatives; someone who can demonstrate a history of success taking bold action; someone with a passion for innovation; a keen understanding of co-creating and building dynamic End to End Sourcing strategies and someone who wants to make a difference. Working alongside cross-functional teams including Design Concepts, Store Operations, Product, Quality Control, and Facilities, this partner will help drive the process to get the best solutions into our stores and deliver value. In this position, you will contribute to Starbucks success by developing and leading global sourcing strategies, effectively managing suppliers and internal networks to deliver best in class performance for the relative spend area. You will consistently deliver measurable and strategic goals to enable a competitive advantage to bottom-line and top-line company growth, and corporate social responsibility leadership. You will collaborate effectively internally and with suppliers; develop effective multiyear negotiation strategies; and lead cross functional teams. Manages a global spend of $200 Million plus depending upon market complexity. May mentor other procurement professionals. Responsibilities • Drive strategies to mitigate risk for Starbucks while also enabling the business to move at the speed of innovation. • Manage a portfolio of projects ranging from new product development to contingency planning and a portfolio of suppliers ranging from furniture to countertops. • Develop effective working relationships with cross functional teams to serve as a valued advisor in sourcing principles. • Reduce supply chain risk by effectively managing supplier relationships while also being aware of the supplier landscape and alternatives. • Drive value for Starbucks including reduced labor costs, reduced waste, and reduced carbon emissions. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering or other related fields preferred. • 5+ years strategic sourcing experience required. • Expert knowledge of procurement processes such as category sourcing strategies, supplier relationship management, risk management, and key legal terms. • Expert knowledge of procurement processes such as RFXs, market analysis, should-cost models, and standard legal protections (i.e. confidentiality agreements). • Ability to prepare clear and concise verbal, written, and visual presentations effectively utilizing storytelling techniques. Nice-to-haves • Strong acumen for coping with different business situations in a professional manner. • Ability to effectively use different types of influencing styles. • Skilled storyteller in answer-first style.
