Summary We have a current opportunity for a Sr. Procurement Specialist in Albuquerque, NM. This team member will be responsible for their assigned activities in procurement, expediting, and/or logistics. Working under the direction of the Sr. Director, Supply Chain, you will be responsible for requesting quotes, negotiating favorable prices and terms and conducts follow up actions through delivery in support of the procurement of materials, equipment, and services as required for projects across all company functions. You will manage vendor, supplier and subcontractor relationships and ensure that required goods and services are procured within budget and at the best price and terms to support project schedules and delivery targets. You will utilize new and existing suppliers in support of the company’s operations, and manage quality, cost, and on-time delivery of goods and services of our selected supply base. The ideal candidate brings a thorough working knowledge of procurement in a high mix / low volume high tech manufacturing environment, with the proven ability to adapt to changing priorities. Responsibilities • Supports aspects of strategic sourcing, which may include, Request for Proposal (RFP) preparation, proposal evaluation, price/cost analysis, subcontract negotiation post award administration. • Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best bid among potential suppliers. • Coordinate with Program Management and Engineering teams to forecast resources and plan appropriate procurement measures to secure material when and as needed, making independent buy decisions using our established authority limits. • Update and maintain Approved Supplier List and help direct vendor reduction efforts as we focus on purchasing efficiency. • Ensure the proper application and distribution of all quality flow-downs to our suppliers, directed by our customer program agreements and contracts. • Place purchase orders and subcontracts for submitted approved purchase requisitions. Review requisitions and purchase documents for accuracy, pricing, and delivery. • Track and manage deliveries, including any schedule or technical changes of those supplies and components to maintain optimal inventory levels. • Manage PO information by updating delivery dates, pricing or other required supplier information, including the executing of cancellations, return or replacement of material, • Have direct input into our corporate level supplier metrics to help us improve overall cost, quality and schedule performance. • Keep Program teams updated on status of orders which may affect our customer program schedule, delivery, quality or price of material ordered. • Work with our Finance and Contracts teams to resolve vendor invoicing and shipment discrepancies using our available record systems and subsequently to negotiate acceptable resolution with our suppliers. • Oversees and/or conducts supplier site visits, as necessary. • Other duties as required. Ideal Experience • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration or related field is highly desirable. Will consider 10+ years of relevant experience in lieu of formal degree. • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in procurement, expediting, and/or logistics function in a comparable hi-tech manufacturing industry. • Strong negotiation skills, purchasing practices and ethics and problem-solving skills. • Experience purchasing IT equipment in quantity through TAA compliant purchasing programs. • Extensive experience using various MS applications, e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint. • US Citizen or US Person as defined by ITAR regulations Desired Skills • Experience with Cost Point or other similar ERP/MRP system is highly desirable. • Experience purchasing IT equipment in quantity through TAA compliant purchasing programs. • Experience with government contracts and how they relate to the procurement process. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Experience working within a heavily weighted new product introduction and low volume manufacturing company. • Experience with supplier management and support while performing your assigned duties.
