This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Sr. Technical Writer in the United States. We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Technical Writer to develop, maintain, and update technical documentation for complex systems, with a focus on Electronic Technical Manuals (ETM) and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM). The role involves translating complex technical requirements into clear, concise, and user-friendly content for both technical and non-technical audiences. You will collaborate with engineering, training, and compliance teams to ensure documentation meets contractual standards and regulatory requirements. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. You will also contribute to the design of training modules, user manuals, and web-based instructional content, ensuring accuracy and usability. Success in this role will directly support operational efficiency, knowledge transfer, and compliance across critical technical programs. Accountabilities: • Interpret and author technical documentation based on Statements of Work (SOW), System Requirement Documents (SRD), and Verification Cross-Reference Matrices (VCRM). • Develop, maintain, and update ETMs and IETMs, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with standards. • Create and convert documentation for training materials, manuals, and web-based content for diverse audiences. • Participate in Technical Manual In-Process Reviews (IPRs), validations, and verifications, documenting corrective actions as needed. • Edit and format content for style, layout, design, grammar, readability, and compliance with MIL-STD, TRADOC, and other regulatory standards. • Update UX/UI content, ensuring consistency and user clarity across interfaces. • Maintain meticulous records of documentation changes and corrections. Requirements: • U.S. Citizenship required. • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Journalism, English, or related field; or equivalent experience (12+ years relevant experience in lieu of degree). • 8+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably within government or defense contracting. • Proficiency with Arbortext, XML, SGML, and technical illustration tools. • In-depth knowledge of MIL-STD-45001-1, MIL-HDBK-1222, MIL-STD-3031/ASD, MIL-PRF-63002/63033, DA PAM 25-40, MIL-STD-40051-1D, and TRADOC regulations. • Demonstrated experience in creating, updating, and redlining technical manuals. • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to explain complex content clearly. • Excellent time management, creativity, and attention to detail; capable of meeting tight deadlines. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint). • Active government security clearance (minimum Secret) required.
