About the position The Information Governance (IG) Compliance Audit Steward at White & Case plays a crucial role in executing client compliance processes, including audits, questionnaires, and certifications. This entry-level position involves collaborating with key stakeholders, ensuring timely delivery of compliance-related tasks, and supporting the overall governance framework within the firm. The steward will also assist in maintaining compliance with various regulations and standards, contributing to the firm's commitment to excellence in legal services. Responsibilities • Help with the execution of the Client compliance processes. • Provide support as needed to Technology compliance tasks. • Ensure daily work and delivery of work product follows documented processes with quality. • Liaise with the IGC Audit Analyst and other team members to support Firm personnel requests on information governance best practices. • Work closely with accountable Firm stakeholders across client compliance to ensure timely delivery of work requests. • Participate in the analysis, design, and operation of automated systems and processes. • Assist with legal hold workflows as needed. • Support the department initiatives to drive changes in working practices and Firm culture. • Provide operational support for projects relating to client and firm data. • Draft, review, and present proposals, project plans, and status reports as needed. • Make recommendations on updating team policies and procedures. • Maintain knowledge and experience in all relevant Information Governance systems and procedures. • Provide testing and feedback for new Information Governance Compliance systems and procedures. • Support the Information Governance Compliance leaders in working closely with the Technology Security Team. • Assist with maintaining the evidence repository for audits. • Perform research on newly identified client technology-related requirements. • Assist in auditing procedures to ensure compliance with Firm policies. • Support the team with the Firm's ISO program and related certification initiatives. • Help maintain the schedule of internal and external Information Security audits. • Support the coordination of Technology audit-related tasks. Requirements • 1 or more years' experience in business. • Educational background in information technology, legal, compliance, information management, or records management. • Graduate of Computer Science, Management Information System, Business Administration, Political Science, or related courses preferred. • Client service focus with demonstrated ability to deliver clear communications. • Proficiency in a Legal Document Management System (DMS) is a plus, especially iManage. • Prior experience or working knowledge of ISO certifications and Records Management solutions is a plus. • Introductory proficiency in Microsoft Office and M365 applications. • Introductory knowledge of information governance principles and practices. • Proficiency in using virtual meeting and collaboration platforms.
