Position: Sustainability Expert (German speaker) Cologne Berlin May 19, 2023 11:55 AM Location: Germany Overview Sustainability Expert (f/m/d) — Full-time | Remote (CET) At Sunhat, we empower sustainability teams with a collaborative platform that unifies ESG requirements and delivers audit-ready data. As a Sustainability Expert, you will play a key role in enhancing the content of our reporting modules. Your expertise will help integrate leading standards and frameworks — such as ESRS, CDP, GRI, DNK, Eco Vadis, ISO 14001/26000, and others — into a robust knowledge base that guides our customers through regulatory and voluntary reporting processes. This role is ideal for someone who combines sustainability expertise with a proactive, entrepreneurial spirit and is excited to work at the intersection of technology, compliance, and customer success. Responsibilities • Framework integration: Contribute to the development and refinement of sustainability reporting modules, embedding frameworks such as ESRS, GRI, CDP, DNK, Eco Vadis, ISO 14001/26000, and the UN Global Compact. • Content consolidation: Structure and maintain Sunhat’s internal database of reporting criteria and performance indicators, transforming complex requirements into usable content. • Regulatory monitoring: Stay up to date with evolving EU and international regulations (e.g., CSRD, SFDR, EU Taxonomy), voluntary initiatives, and rating methodologies — and translate these updates into actionable guidance. • Customer enablement: Support customers in navigating sustainability reporting and rating challenges, from scoping double materiality to preparing documentation and audit-ready evidence. • Internal collaboration: Work closely with product, customer success, and content teams to ensure our platform reflects the latest requirements and best practices. Ideal candidate • You bring at least 1 year of experience in sustainability reporting, ESG consulting, or corporate responsibility. • You have hands-on knowledge of reporting standards and frameworks such as ESRS, CDP, GRI, DNK, Eco Vadis, ISO 14001/26000, and TCFD. • You are comfortable navigating EU regulatory frameworks like the CSRD, EU Taxonomy, and SFDR. • You have experience translating complex requirements into structured documentation or databases — Excel and Google Sheets are your playground. • You understand the importance of evidence-based documentation in audit and rating processes. • You have strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills. • You work independently, with a solution-oriented and structured approach. • You communicate fluently in English and German.
