Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is a recognized leader in advanced combat weapon systems. The System Safety Engineer (SSE) Associate is responsible for ensuring product safety for warfighters by performing hazard analysis and recommending safety features and controls. Responsibilities Support the program by developing hazard analyses, software safety assessments, hazardous material management planning and execution Help prepare presentation material and Technical Data Packages (TDPs) for technical reviews and customer briefings Flow down system safety requirements to suppliers and verify design implementation Assist in requirements development and verification Review specifications, technical documentation, and design changes for impacts to system safety Support customer and test/operational range requirements Participate in the development of testing activities to ensure safety requirements are satisfied Participates in accident investigations involving damage to products or related facilities and assists in identification of causes and corrective actions Skills Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in an engineering discipline Strong written and oral communication skills Ability to make formal presentations to large groups Interacts well in a team atmosphere with engineers, suppliers, program managers and customers Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance Experienced with MS Office applications including high level of proficiency with Access and Excel Candidate should be a self-starter capable of performing tasks with little direction Effective analytical problem solving skills, the ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy Able to learn and work with System Safety specific software tools Benefits Medical Dental Vision Life Insurance Short-Term Disability Long-Term Disability 401(k) match Flexible Spending Accounts EAP Education Assistance Parental Leave Paid time off Holidays Company Overview Lockheed Martin is a global security and aerospace company that specializes in advanced technology systems, products, and services.
