About the position The Technical QA Engineer, Performance at Collibra Inc. is responsible for leading and participating in the enhancement of testing practices, particularly focusing on performance testing for web-based enterprise applications. This role involves identifying performance risks, designing and executing test cases, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure software quality. The engineer will also develop tools and processes for performance analysis, coach team members on testing techniques, and maintain comprehensive test coverage reports. Responsibilities • Lead and participate in the improvement of testing practices, including exploratory testing and session-based test management. • Identify areas of performance risk for software and architecture changes. • Design and run test cases to mitigate performance risks. • Participate in design meetings with Business Analysts, UX designers, Support, and Developers to ensure testability. • Create and define new scripts or tools for performance testing and analysis. • Develop and debug code to identify and fix performance issues. • Produce and maintain product coverage reports for test coverage. • Perform capacity planning and projection for large customers, focusing on I/O and RAM capacity analysis. • Design and build efficient processes and automation for nightly tests. • Analyze test results, identify performance issues, and document root causes. • Coach developers and testers on good testing practices. Requirements • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field. • Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience analyzing, troubleshooting, and automating performance workloads on large-scale systems. • Five (5) years of experience with performance load testing tools including Neoload, LoadRunner, and JMeter. • Experience creating automated performance tests in Jenkins using Python and Groovy. • Experience creating reports of nightly performance tests using Kibana and Grafana. • Experience with performance analysis tools including Datadog, SentryOne, and JProfiler. • Experience testing and troubleshooting performance of enterprise-scale HTML/J2EE web-based applications with various database backends. • Experience working in Agile/Scrum models.
