Telemetry Registered Nurse - Manassas, Virginia
An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with Telemetry expertise to work a night shift floating position in an advanced intermediate care unit. This contract role is based in Manassas, VA, and involves caring for a complex patient population requiring specialized cardiopulmonary and trauma nursing skills. The schedule is 3 nights per week, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with end-of-week required and no call duties. This role demands proficiency in telemetry monitoring, advanced cardiac life support, and managing critically ill patients with conditions such as congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, and post-cardiac catheterization care. Experience with central line and PICC line management, rapid response utilization, and administration and titration of cardiac drips is essential. The position requires active Virginia or Compact nursing licensure prior to submission, current ACLS and BLS certifications, and preferably NIH Stroke Scale certification. Candidates comfortable floating across telemetry, intermediate care (IMC), and med/surg units are encouraged to apply. Key Qualifications: • Active VA or Compact RN license at submission • ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIH Stroke Scale preferred • Strong telemetry monitoring and cardiac dysrhythmia management skills • Experience with central line and PICC line care • Skilled in use of rapid response teams and cardiac drip titration • Ability to manage acute and chronic pulmonary and cardiac patients, including ventilator and tracheostomy care • Willingness to float across IMC, Telemetry 1 and 2, and Med/Surg units Primary Responsibilities: • Provide high-level nursing care to patients with complex cardiac and pulmonary needs • Perform telemetry monitoring and manage dysrhythmias with appropriate interventions • Administer and titrate cardiac drips according to protocols • Collaborate with rapid response teams and participate in critical interventions when necessary • Manage central lines, PICC lines, and other invasive devices • Maintain isolation precautions and provide wound care including wound vac management • Float effectively across assigned units as scheduled About the Location: Manassas, VA, is a vibrant city rich in history and community spirit.
