Telemetry RN - Rochester, NY
A registered nurse with specialized experience in telemetry and medical-surgical care is needed to support an acute care unit focused on elderly patients. This contract position offers the opportunity to work a night shift schedule in a dynamic hospital setting, providing high-quality nursing care in a 36-bed unit dedicated to complex and alternate level of care cases. Location: This role is based in Rochester, NY, a vibrant city known for its rich cultural heritage, excellent educational institutions, and scenic views along Lake Ontario. Responsibilities: • Deliver skilled nursing care to patients within the West 4 Acute Care of Elderly (ACE) and Alternate Level of Care (ALC) unit. • Monitor and manage the health status of patients with cardiac telemetry needs and medical-surgical conditions. • Accurately document patient care and chart in EPIC electronic health records. • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care plans. • Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, maintaining strict patient safety and confidentiality standards. • Maintain schedule flexibility including night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, and required weekend and holiday coverage. Qualifications and Desired Experience: • Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license. • Current NIH AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. • Minimum of 1 year recent nursing experience in medical-surgical or telemetry units; 2 years recent experience preferred. • U.S. work experience of at least 2 years required for non-U.S. trained candidates. • Ability to adapt to scheduling needs including potential block booking requests. • Resides more than 50 miles from the facility.
